HA is a natural component of the skin, and it is able to absorb large quantities of water and to form complexes with collagen and elastin. These complexes support the structure of the skin and create volume to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Our cross-linked HA-based dermal filler injections help restore the skin’s natural appearance and volume, and they deliver long-lasting and naturally beautiful results.

How do they work?

As we age our bodies produce less and less hyaluronic acid, our face loses volume, the subcutaneous fat pads are reduced causing flattening and a drawn hollow appearance. This process unknowingly begins around the age of 20. Around the age of 40 the aging process becomes visibly apparent. This is where Dermal Fillers come in to play, they are used to replenish this lost volume and rejuvenate the face!

Hyaluronic acid also supports the formation and maintenance of collagen. So we need to replace the lost hyaluronic acid as we get older.

How long do they last and does it hurt?

Every patient metabolizes dermal filler differently. On average, results generally last between 4-9 months or more before touch up treatments are needed to sustain results, but once again, this depends on metabolism, type of filler, and area it is injected into.

Our dermal filler also contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, which makes it more comfortable to inject

Will I have to take time off from work?

Normal activities, including work, can usually be resumed right away after most injectable filler procedures.

Areas commonly injected include:

  • Nasolabial folds – the groove in the skin that leads from the nose to the outer corner of the mouth
  • Lips – to enhance volume, redefine lip shape and correct ‘bleeding’ lip lines above and below the lips
  • Tear Troughs – Hollows beneath the eyes
  • Cheeks – enhance volume and reshape the face
  • Chin & Jowl
  • Marionette lines –these give the mouth a downturned appearance

How much does it cost?

How do they work?

Anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking communication between the nerve and the injected muscles. Once injected, the product immediately begins to relax these specific muscles and lines and wrinkles being to soften. This temporarily relaxes the muscles preventing the muscle in question from contracting and making the movements that would cause wrinkling of the skin. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing other facial expression to be unaffected.

How long do they last and does it hurt?

The effects of anti-aging facial injections typically last on average three to six months, but they can last longer with ongoing treatment.

The treatments consist of a series of tiny injections using a fine needle. Although most patients tolerate the treatments with little discomfort, some patients request the use of a topical anaesthetic cream which is applied 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment.

How much do they cost?

This depends on how much is injected. The number of units you’ll need will depend on how active your muscles are, every person is different. The price for a single unit is approximately $3-$5. To treat the forehead you’ll need roughly 70-90 units. To treat crow’s feet you will need approximately 15-25 maybe more. Please remember and we can’t stress this enough, every person is different and have different muscle strengths. This will need to be discussed with Dr Belich prior to treatment.
